Start with the reason for the call

Tell us whether the system has changed, the house is being sold or something may have damaged the chimney. That decides the level of access to discuss.

Level 1: readily accessible parts

This covers the accessible fireplace and chimney when the system and its use have not changed. It is the usual starting point for a routine annual inspection.

Level 2: add the camera and accessible spaces

A property transfer, system change or damaging event calls for a more detailed inspection. The flue scan and accessible surrounding spaces help identify conditions a hearth-level look misses.

Level 3: inspect a concealed concern

When the earlier inspection leaves a specific hazard unresolved, limited removal of construction may be needed. Agree the access and restoration scope first.
